So Iran attacking Israel wasn't what kicked it off this week then, it was Israel attacking Iran



I find this amazing tbh and I can't get over this phenomenon when it comes to Israel where some people just stick to their guns no matter what manner of solid evidence you throw at them. It goes in one ear and comes out the other and they keep going like a zombie.

Recent news on social media that's spreading right now is that Israeli drones in Gaza play the sound of children crying or women screaming to lure out men who come out to help the injured women or children and then the drone shoots and kills the men.

Absolute mental you wokies. Iran are responsible for horrendous atrocities and don't believe in the most basic of human rights and somehow that's all okay because of US foreign policy.

Iran are one of many countries with poor domestic human rights records. Britain supports the overwhelming majority of states on *its own list of human rights abusing states*, through weapons, joint-military training and so on, meaning the British state is somewhat complicit in the internal human rights violations of many, many countries - collectively and occasionally individually worse than anything going on inside Iran (it should be noted that we helped bring Pahlavi - the Shah - to power, whom Amnesty described as reigning with "an all pervasive terror". Do you have much to say about that? No, of course not. One of those major human rights abusing states that we support is of course Israel, who you're waving the pompoms for. It's unclear to me why you'd dismiss the human rights violations of one state thousands of miles from the UK, whilst condemning another's.

No one is supporting Iran's domestic human rights record, as you would know if you bothered to read the words people actually say instead of the imaginary ones you've come up with instead. It is entirely possible - easy even - to take the time to understand the geopolitical conflict that the US and Britain have mostly inflicted upon Iran, relentlessly since 1953, whilst not supporting or defending Iran's domestic policies.

And it may come as a shock to you, but a country's democratic or liberal values domestically do not automatically translate to its conduct internationally. Britain is a textbook case: liberal and democratic by international standards domestically, but extremely violent and complicit in major human rights abuses in the pursuit of its foreign policy objectives abroad. Simply recognising this objective and easily verified reality does not mean defence or support for some other human rights abuser's domestic policies just because it happens to be a victim to UK/US foreign policies.

That's what I'm querying too. Remember you are dealing with someone that has shown over the years that they can reason things out to a reasonable degree when it comes to football and other topics, but when it comes to Israel, it doesn't matter what facts, truth or evidence you produce.

Any other random country and this wouldn't even be a debate, consensus would be unanimous. Pro Israel agenda is in schools, churches and the media. We all grow up being told Israel is a small peace loving land surrounded by savage and brutal enemies that will destroy them if we don't help Israel, when the truth is Israel is used as a military base to destabilise the region.

Anyone with eyes can see they want Gaza and even more Palestinian lands to give their settlers and that's why this conflict has never ended. Some will accept this and some will stick to their Sunday School narratives. I guess that's just the way it is.
